Collection: 🍊 Sea Buckthorn
Sea Buckthorn (Seaberry) — Zone 2/3
If there's one shrub built for the Canadian Prairies, it's sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides). Cold-hardy to Zone 2/3, drought-tolerant once established, and loaded with brilliant golden-orange berries that are among the most nutrient-dense fruit you can grow - this plant earns its place many times over. The flavour is bold and surprising: bright and tart, with unmistakable hints of pineapple and mango that make it a favourite for jams, juices, wines, and everything in between.
We carry a curated selection of proven cultivars, from Canadian Prairie–bred varieties developed right here for our climate, to legendary Siberian standbys with deep cold-country roots. Whether you're building a food forest, planting a productive shelterbelt, or simply want an extraordinary edible shrub that feeds your family for decades, there's a sea buckthorn here for you.
A quick note: sea buckthorn is dioecious, meaning you'll need both a female fruiting variety and our Lord male pollinator for a harvest. One Lord happily pollinates up to seven females..
