About Our Nursery

We acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

Prairie Hardy Nursery operates on a family farm located northeast of Edmonton, Alberta. As stewards of this prairie landscape, owners Kurt and Kristel combined their passion for rare cultivars and sustainable farming to create a thriving nursery. Our mission is to grow unique and food-producing trees and shrubs that withstand the coldest climates while enriching the soil and supporting local ecosystems.

We’re proud to share our decades of experience with you and are always expanding our offerings through experimental orchards. Know of a unique or heirloom tree we should propagate? Reach out, we’d love to hear from you!
