The truly hardy Prairie Sensation is an excellent-tasting apple with a pleasant aromatic flavour, a delicious balance of sweet and tart with a crisp bite giving you a firm juicy texture. Red over green in colour with lovely white flesh. Great to eat fresh and known for tasty pies, these apples average up to 9 cm (3.5") in size. The Prairie Sensation ripens in the middle of September and stores well up to 4 months in cold storage.
Prairie Sensation is known as one of the three most cold-resistant apples in Alaska, along with Prairie Sun and September Ruby. Prairie Sensation was released by the University of Saskatchewan.
